Back In Action

I'm a little worried about my discipline with shopping. I had a three item order that cost more than a smal amount of regular groceries. My items were : a fifth of southern comfort , an electric toothbrush , and toothpaste . The southern comfort was at a great deal , however  can I really spend with the cash flow I had last month. The southern comfort no matter how great of a deal is a luxury I talked myself into. The toothbrush I bought was 8 bucks. The toothbrush is electric so please no heckling! This was because way earlier I bought toothbrush heads that did not go to the toothbrush I already had.  I decided an electric toothbrush does way better than plain and I won't be wasting the heads I got before . Now about the toothpaste; I needed it , it was 88 cents and it works .

Spirits will have to be bought later in celebration of good cash flow. The toothbrush is worth it , and the toothpaste is going to work.

The Good, The Bad, and From Now On

So far I have had some bad times and good times. The good times have been buying the best price per ounce for everything I've bought. I have had some very weak moments where I spent more than I should of.

good things

Kroger debit card
I was unsuccessful in getting the 1-2-3 rewards credit card but was with the prepaid debit card. There are minor drawbacks which can be taken care of so the savings are worth it. Another benefit is you can get points anywhere so the points keep adding up.

price per ounce

Sometimes everything comes down to the price per ounce on items. you might only spend 4 bucks on something but the 8 dollars is a way better value. This little saving tip can add up, but its not an excuse to go over the budget.

Bad Things

Weak moments
As eric cartman I lack discipline. Sometimes I am hungry or am _____. The simple things I can do eat before work about an hour to half an hour. I'll need to eat good food so I won't be murdered by the aftermath of grease.

Allocating money
I have five accounts, but I have not specified what they are for. I need to direct and manage my money way better if I want to be the least bit financially successful.I will have checking acounts for quick spending and specific saving accounts.

What I'll do
All in all I think I need to be more thrifty, I will not go to the good will because I can never find anything there. I'll just do anything I can to have a purpose for and stretch my money.

Pennies and Millions Are the Same

Its very very true when you use your money instead of a debit/credit card or really set a limit and stick to it you can keep to your budgets. It's discipline, discipline is the only thing that can make a budget work. The purpose of the budget is to keep, get to, or increase positive cash flow.
Filthy, stinking, dirty rich or poor, money management is everything. just as Gene Simmons says: if you can't see the pennies going out you won't see the millions going out. Pennies and millions . pretty different, they are one in the same. Very old Ben Franklin also said "said a penny saved is a penny earned."
A rock-star and a legendary pimp can't be wrong; both went from rags to riches. Millions and pennies being the same may not ..... Before pennies and millions mean the same your mind will have to have a certain philosophy. I cannot say what the philosophy is, but after time you will see pennies and millions are the same.

WEEKLY RECAP!

If you can read the image I hit all of the budgets I wanted to for the week. My goal for food for the week was 60 dollars. I spent 16 dollars on groceries and 15 on food and dining. I did have a lot of help from a Meijer gift card that does not show on the weekly recap. Some of the biggest help I had was using cash  and getting a free meal at Lutheran Hospital for volunteering and a free meal at McDonald's.

Gas HURTS

It's the worst feeling, paying for gas. Just to fuel your endevours around town you had to near brake the bank. But there is relief just around the corner! Kroger and other gas stations have a easy way of racking up points to save on gas. Granted it will take a whole whopping 100 dollars to save 10 cents a gallon; other gas stations will have you covered with around 7 cents a gallon of for using a no charge pay card. I have to go, Barnes and Noble is closing.

Get Good Out of Bad

You know you are heading into rapid success when you think about getting the best out of the bad. When something happens like an unexpected bill that sets you back, or your hours get cut; make the effects positive. Use the instance of less pay to learn how to be thrifty or expand your financial genius.
This is way easier said then done; especially when alot of things are happening at once. I work at McDonald's, the job when busy is insane. The only pace is lightning fast. From time to time someone will be in my way when I need to make fries. I made this "set back" into an opportunity to find out what I can do to take advantage of it.
A plenty more nail-biting situation is having DEBT,DEBT,AND DEBT. I do not have half a million dollars of debt or anything; but it is still BAD. Actually its a GOOD thing I can BENEFIT from. Being in debt will teach me how to REALLY budget and the importance of a positive cash flow. Under the pressure of getting out of debt as soon as I can will force my financial genius to kick in and get to work.

Die trying

The song die trying by the art of dying is exactly my philosophy right now. The ironic thing about a quote like "die trying" id once you put that kind of commitment into something, there will be nothing in your way. Before I philosophize more I need to setup the context.

I was doing extremely well with my money,my net worth was 1,500. Needless to say I didn't think much of a negative cash flow. How obvious is a negative cash flow that you are going to run into some problems?I kept spending and spending; even later I got a credit card. I did have a plan for the credit card: I was going to keep my money in high interest savings accounts and ONLY buy what I NEED on the card. I will just hurry up, I can see some people getting distracted. Bottom line is I ended up with DEBT some personal, other with the big bad financially illiterate government, and even with the local library. I am no Abe Lincoln.

The title of the song"Die Trying" is infinitely similar to :never say die or never give up. The way I am living those phrases is by taking anything "bad" that happens and turning it into something powerful. If my hours get cut, I will donate plasma or do whatever I have to do to get where I need to be. When my budget consists of tuna and canned soup I will recycle the cans on my way to my class at IPFW.

The bottom line is....NEVER SAY DIE
